My Euro Tour 2006: Dusseldorf, Amsterdam, Paris, Mont Saint Michel
I shall begin with that it is our second trip: me and my girlfriend Natalia went to Paris in August 2005. And as well as the last time we have organized all independently - irrespective of any tourist operators. All tickets and hotels we have paid before two months to travel. Our travel has begun with Moscow: reception of the visas in the consulate of France as we planned to spend most of time in France. So, we have leaved for Dusseldorf (Germany) from the Sheremetyevo early in the morning of 30th of August.- Dusseldorf -
"Why Dusseldorf?" - We wished to see Germany, and the most close city to Amsterdam (the city which we wished to visit following) there was Dusseldorf. We did not have any problems, and we have safely reached from the airport to the city centre by bus. We have found our hotel after half hour guided under posters at bus stops. The hotel has located in five minutes of walking from the Central station. First we were captured with doubts about correctness of a choice of the hotel - there were entertaining places for adults around it: a striptease, table-dances, erotic-show and shops :). The personnel has appeared friendly and inspired trust, the hotel was pure, and the room was good. So, as a result the hotel has not disappointed us. By the way the breakfast was good too. All this costed 55 euros pear night (three stars). In Dusseldorf we have spended two days.
I have seen the city such as I've represented it to myself: clean, quiet, with a perfectly kept old part of city and beautiful quay of the Rhine river. It seemed to us, that it is financial capital of Germany as there are many the largest Deutsche Banks. Also we've tasted traditional German cuisine - and we liked it :). Have pleasantly surprised prices, it was appeared considerably below that in other cities and tourist places.
We have not visited museums as in this city we interested about atmosphere surrounding us most of all, we understood that our time is very short and just enjoyed our stay.
The weather was not very warm and not so sunny in days of our arrival, but this fact not affected to our good impressions.
The city has presented us very pleasant impressions, mainly because we met and spent couple of time with our girlfriend Lidia who lives and studies in Essen.
It's a pity to us that our stay in Germany was very short, and we visited only the one city. But we have opened the new country for ourselves, and we shall necessarily return there again planning a trip on other interesting cities...I suggest to look photos from Dusseldorf here.
