Paris

My Euro Tour 2006: Dusseldorf, Amsterdam, Paris, Mont Saint Michel

We already knew about high-speed trains after ICE. Nevertheless our impressions was very big! It is a pity that we did not stay in Belgium for a couple of days...I am assured that we have missed a lot of interesting things.

We have arrived to Paris at the eleven of evening of 4th Septembre to the 'Gare de Nord'. They say that it's not safe area of Paris. We have arrived to a hotel by the metro at night. As I have already told, in Paris we were the second time. This city became us very native. One year ago we have spended there 9 days. It was our first trip. And this time almost always we were guided without a map.
Night Paris has appeared friendly with us though some times it was a little terrifying in the underground :)

I am assured, that the most of you know Paris, read about it and have a good representation... It is really wonderful city, as Ernest Hemingway spoken...

I wish to tell some words about my personal attitude to Paris and France. For the first: I respect the position of the Frenchmen concerning keeping of their culture and language. And it's not truth, that the Frenchmen are unfriendly! Knowing some phrases by French, it is enough, and you always take a help if necessary...

I read about history of France and Paris much...Also, I love the French films from childhood. Old comedies: 'La Grande Vadrouille' with Louis De Funes, 'Le Gendarme de St. Tropez'...A kind flashing humour in the great performance of striking actors...'Le Grand blond avec une chaussure noire' with Pierre Richard or 'La Doublure' and 'Le Placard' with Daniel Auteuil and Gerard Depardieu...'Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain' with Audrey Tautou...'Joyeuses Paques' with Jean-Paul Belmondo...and many others...in my opinion - great films of great directors and actors. So, I saw France through films and when I first time have arrived there I have found its almost such as represented...Certainly I don't build any illusions, and I understand that the real life differs from cinema! But probable because of music Vladimir Cosma I tried to see in Paris only the good sides :).

We understood that it's impossible to look all sights of Paris, and we have divided Paris into the quarters, interesting us. Also we rose on all high points of Paris: the Montparnasse tour, Montmartre, Eiffel tour...Also we have visited Louvre (halls of Egyptology and the Italian painting) and D'Orse (the floor of impressionists ).
What about we really regret is that we did not visited l'Opera Garnier...maybe next time

We walked across Paris two days. And early morning on the 6th of September we have gone to the North of France from the 'Gare de Montparnasse'. The TGV train - it's super :) as it seemed to me - the fastest train, the speed more then 300km.
We have arrived to Rennes, and from there we have gone to Mont Saint Michel by bus.

We have returned to Paris on 8th of September. We had eight days available before departure to Moscow. For this time we have got a friendly relations with the baker, with the seller of fruit from our street...As though we are real inhabitants instead of tourists. Also we have got acquainted with very interesting people...
It was very sad for us to leave from Paris, not because there beautifully and good...The part us has remained there. I am very happy that has visited it twice, and I hope that that was not a last time.
